Vintage 1980s Red Wool and Velvet Batwing Jacket Coat

 A gorgeous red wool vintage winter coat that manages to feel refined and chic, yet very bold at the same time and in the style of Y ves Saint L aurent. This is a piece that would have been produced in the early 1980s and shows all the hallmarks of the power dressing silhouette of the  time period. The body of the coat  is made of a wool mix and I love how it blends a deep inky black dark velvet to a plush collar which is all used to accent  a 4 double breasted button fasten and also to the cuffs which adds a batwing and dramatic feel to the sleeves.This adds unexpected volume to the top. This gives the piece a very chic french feel. It is cut to cut long and straight through the body with that creates a simple line that stops at the top of the thighs. Front pockets sit low on the front on eithor side of the buttons. The buttons themselves are round and thick and are a deep push velvet  meant to highlight the velvet feel. A excellent 80s specimen statement coat, that is universally glamorous for day wear and to night.
