Overdress Vintage Brings 80s Glam to SKY TV’s Star-Studded new gangster drama ‘A Town Called Malice’

For Immediate Release

Liverpool, UK - March 16, 2023 - Overdress Vintage, a Liverpool based vintage ecommerce clothing company specialising in maximalist vintage from the 1970s and 1980s, is proud to announce that it has provided costumes for the upcoming Sky Original drama A Town Called Malice.

A Town Called Malice is a raucous crime thriller and family saga set on the Costa Del Sol in the early 1980s, with a pulsating ’80s soundtrack. The eight-part series stars Jack Rowan (Peaky Blinders), Tahirah Sharif (The Haunting of Bly Manor), Dougray Scott (Mission: Impossible 2), Jason Flemyng (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) and Martha Plimpton (The Goonies) and Eliza Butterworth (The Last Kingdom).  It launches on Sky Max and NOW in the UK on Thursday March 16 at 9pm.

Overdress Vintage was approached by the production team of A Town Called Malice to source and supply authentic 80s vintage clothing and accessories that would reflect the style and culture of the mid 80s. The company worked closely with the costume designer and wardrobe department to select items that would suit the characters and scenes of the show. The brief was extreme 80s, lots of metallics and peacock style after dark looks. Some of the standout looks were a 1980s Halston Heritage Gold Silk Lame and velvet power dress embellished adorned with a diamond rosette, an emerging trend we are now seeing on the runway. A dramatic cobalt blue and black Nina Ricci Puff Ball Dress and red French silk lame vibrant avant garde blazer worn by Tahirah Sharif on set and has become the centrepiece of the publicity campaign.

“Overdress Vintage are delighted to be part of this exciting project and to showcase our collection of vintage clothing to a wider audience,” said founder Jen McNally. “with a passion for vintage fashion my sole focus is helping our customers find unique pieces that express their individuality and our unique peacock style.
